Multimedia Video Editor and Animator
Overview:
We are seeking a talented and creative Multimedia Video Editor and Animator to join our communications team. The ideal candidate will have a strong focus on video editing and animation, with complementary skills in graphic design. You will be responsible for crafting visually compelling multimedia content across a variety of platforms, including social media, websites, advertising campaigns, and corporate projects.
Your primary role will be to take raw video footage and transform it into engaging and high-quality videos, incorporating animations, motion graphics, and design elements that capture the essence of our brand and resonate with our target audiences.
Key Responsibilities:
Video Editing:
Edit and assemble raw video footage into polished, professional content.
Add music, sound effects, and voiceovers to videos for a cohesive multimedia experience.
Implement transitions, motion graphics, and colour grading for final video delivery.
Work with various video formats and ensure videos are optimised for multiple platforms (YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, websites, etc.).
Collaborate with content creators, business units, and project managers to ensure videos meet project goals and deadlines.
Animation:
Create dynamic 2D and/or 3D animations and motion graphics for promotional materials, explainer videos, presentations, and more.
Incorporate animated infographics, logos, and typographic elements into video projects.
Use software like After Effects, Blender, or similar tools to develop compelling visual storytelling.
Graphic Design:
Design static and dynamic graphics to complement video content (thumbnails, posters, banners, etc.).
Develop visually cohesive brand assets, including logos, icons, and templates for use across various platforms.
Work with the communications team to create promotional materials that align with the overall brand strategy including presentations and design assets.
Collaboration & Feedback:
Communicate effectively with stakeholders to understand project requirements, receive feedback, and make necessary revisions.
Stay updated on the latest trends in video editing, animation, and design to continuously improve and innovate.
Ensure that all content aligns with the brand’s voice, tone, and style guidelines.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Video Editing Expertise:
Proficient in industry-standard software such as Adobe Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro.
Ability to manage and organise large amounts of video content, ensuring projects remain on time and within scope.
Experience with colour correction, grading, and audio mixing.
Animation Skills:
Knowledge of animation software such as Adobe After Effects, Blender, or other relevant tools.
Strong understanding of motion design principles, typography, and visual effects.
Experience with both 2D and 3D animation is a plus.
Graphic Design Competency:
Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
Strong creative skills in typography, layout, and visual storytelling.
Ability to create cohesive design elements that are visually appealing and brand consistent.
Additional Skills:
Excellent time management, organisation, and attention to detail.
Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Knowledge of video compression, codecs, and web video standards is an advantage.
Experience with social media content creation and understanding platform-specific requirements is a bonus.
Other Requirements:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in video editing, animation, and graphic design.
A strong portfolio showcasing video editing, animation, and graphic design work.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent time management and organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
Strong communication skills and the ability to present ideas effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in design or relevant industry experience.
Knowledge of UI/UX design principles is a plus.
Background in digital marketing or social media content creation.
Experience working in Engineering and Construction preferred but not essential.
